Life Is Beautiful
Life Is Beautiful (1997)

IMDB rating: 8.40

Plot: 1939 Arezzo, Italy. Guido and his friend arrive in town. Guido, who’s Jewish, is a funny, happy, naively sophisticated, imaginative man, who falls in love with a school teacher(Dora). With his wits and his imagination, he wins the heart of the teacher, who in spite of having agreed to a marriage proposal with an other guy, doesn’t hesitate for a moment to run away with Mr. Guido, who was just a waiter by then. They have a kid who always enjoys the special imagination of his father. During WWII, the happy family gets swept off to a concentration camp, where the father, in order to make his son believe that the predicament is just an game his family is participating in, uses that very imagination and makes his son believe that it is a game they are playing and the 1st prize is a tank. Various levels of creativity are used by Guido to protect his son in the camp, where the old and the children are killed because they are not strong enough to work.

I'm not sure what my question is but will you help me please?
I think about this boy everyday, he’s just my friend but I think I might love him. He’s funny, artistic, beautiful. everything. I remember everything he says. I wish he would notice me more than a friend I wish he woudl realize his current girlfriend is just using him as a cover up for her lesbionic self. I have nothing against lesbians it just breaks my heart to see him that doesn’t love him as much as I could. Last spring she broke up with him because she had a crush on her best friend which is a girl. It killed me to see him so hurt and I don’t want him to feel that way ever again in his life. I think about him 24/7 and I cry when I watch chick flicks and romance movies. My hands/fingers hurt when I think about him. I don’t know what to do, I want to tell him but it’s such a risk.

Just tell him how you feel about him. Life is always a risk. You have nothing yo lose. Be brave kiddo!

I know you’re probably not that interested, but here goes. It’s best David Bowie songs, by the way. Tell me what you think.

1. Moonage Daydream
2. The Width of a Circle
3. Life on Mars?
4. Changes
5. The Prettiest Star
6. Drive-In Saturday
7. The Man Who Sold the World
8. Ziggy Stardust
9. Soul Love
10. Station to Station
11. Oh! You Pretty Things
12. Young Americans
13. Velvet Goldmine
14. Wild is the Wind
15. Starman
16. Five Years
17. Panic in Detroit (especially the opening)
18. Fame
19. Aladdin Sane
20. Look Back in Anger
21. Andy Warhol
22. Sound and Vision
23. Ashes to Ashes
24. The Jean Genie
25. Suffragette City
26. Diamond Dogs
27. Heroes
28. Be My Wife
29. Song for Bob Dylan
30. Queen Bitch
31. Beauty and the Beast
32. Space Oddity
33. The Bewlay Brothers
34. Rebel Rebel
35. Always Crashing in the Same Car

I’d go to 100, but I don’t want to bore you any further.

BQ: What are your favorite David Bowie tunes?
BQ2: Is there life on mars, or what?
BQ3: Wot’s, uh…the deal?
Jimmy, I love you. You always know exactly what to say.

Great list, though I’d personally put Cracked Actor somewhere on there.

And perhaps exchange Five Years with Drive-In Saturday, but that’s just personal preference/I’ve had the damn song stuck in my head for three days/it’s a really good&&emotional song (but then, aren’t all Bowie songs like that?). Oh, and I love the song Watch That Man, but..I don’t think I wanna knock anything off that list. >.>

BA: ..My list would be like yours. With Sweet Head added to it.
BA2: Oh yes.
BA3: ..I’m in love. With Tim Tams.

Turkey a la king!
2 cups chopped turkey
1/2 cup chopped green pepper and a small can of mushroom
1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup flour
1.4 tsp ground black pepper and 1 tsp salt
2 cups (1 pint) half and half and 1 and 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 jar of pimientos

Biscuits, either homemade or frozen, it tastes better either way.
Cut the turkey in bite size pieces, about 2 cups worth.

Take 1/2 cup butter or margarine, 1/2 cup chopped green pepper and a small can of mushrooms, drained, but put the liquid in a measuring cup and set aside. Melt butter in a pan and saute mushrooms and pepper for about 5-8 minutes.

Put 1/4 tsp ground black pepper, and 1 tsp salt in the pan and about 1/2 cup flour. Mix it up, and its going to look like a paste. Keep mixing so it doesn’t burn until it gets kind of bubbly.

Pour in a cup and a half of chicken broth, 2 cups of half and half and reserved mushroom liquid. Stir together and keep stirring until smooth. Put to a boil and let boil for 2 minutes, stirring often.

Add chopped turkey with a jar of pimientos, drained. Stir until thick enough to pour over biscuiits like a gravy. Add teaspoons of flour to thicken it up if necessary. Serve over hot biscuits! This will serve 4 people, but it is easily doubled. You can use chopped chicken instead of turkey too.

2 tbsp. chicken bouillon powder
2 tsps. parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

4 cups chopped leftover cooked turkey
1 cup sour cream

Melt margarine in large saucepan on medium. Add onion. Cook 5 or 10 min., stirring often, until soft.

Add flour. Mix well. Gradually stir in milk until boiling and thickened.

Add next 7 ingredients. Simmer uncovered for 3 to 4 min.

So im a very picky eater.
I dont like any kind of beans, but i love tofu (have it usually 5 times a week), and i get Alot of fruits in, and like probably 2 servings of veggies a day.
But of course im a 15 year old and will eat hot cheetos and some junk food.
When i was veg for only 5 months i would get seriously nauseous.
To the point of throwing up. And it would happen like first thing in the morning when i hadent ate anything.
(and its not morning sickness :)
Does my diet sound horrible?
My parents pressure me to eat meat cause they are worried about me.
But i tried a bite of Turkey yesterday and i was disgusted.
Ive lost about 15 pounds being a veg, when my weight was literally perfect.
But it could just be from eating healthy?

Im confused can anyone help me?

it might just be your body getting used to the change…but they say if your a vegetarian to try to eat lots of beans because its a good substitute for the protein your not getting from meat..even if u dont like it it would be worth eating for your health…i would also talk to a nutritionist and see what you can do differently.
Sandra | Nov 27, 2009

tell your doctor and see if that helps
Palo | Nov 27, 2009

your body is changing to get used to vagitarian. if it bothers you and u get sick so much i would go to the doctors. but i would start slowly going back to meat again. mabe half a chicken nugget for a day then one whole chicken nugget then one and a hlaf and so one.
hamtorimusic | Nov 27, 2009

ya your diet is horrible. at this point you should be in the peak of health. i see this in teens all the time. now i’m not saying this is you but many young veg*ns think they can just stop eating meat and proudly wear some label that they are veg*ns. a lot more to it than that.

learn to love legumes, they should be a primary source for protein. i am very anti-soy. you are what you eat, so lay off the junk food, it’s the cause of many health problems in america. leafy greens are a must as they are a great source of iron (girls pay special attention), and calcium. instead of cheetos, have nuts and seeds, some raw veggies.

pay attention to http://www.chooseveg.com/vegan-food-pyra mid.asp

feel better.
Golden | Nov 27, 2009

your diet doesn’t sound horrible…but if your concerned about the weight you lost you can try having peanut butter once or twice a week.

but the best thing to do would be to go to a nutritionist had have him/her formulate a meal plan for you. you could go to a doctor, but doctors don’t know much about vegetarianism
crc | Nov 27, 2009

I was about to say what Golden said. you’re diet is horrible actually.
stop with the junk food, really. and just two servings of vegetables a day? try to make it four (as well as the fruits)

if you’re in the mood for snacking try some dried fruits (that contain no sugar added) and some seeds or nuts…or popcorn! (though try to stay away from the butter added of course).

eat lots of leafy greens and legumes! seriously, especially for us girls who are more prone to having a lack of iron (due to our menstrual cycles and the loss of blood).

hope you get better

Havana Nights
Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (2004)

IMDB rating: 5.60

Plot: An American girl (Garai) and her parents arrive in Cuba right before the Revolution breaks out. She meets a local boy (Luna) who instantly notices her dancing abilities and romances her. But as Castro’s forces are forcing Americans to leave the country, will she stay or will she go?

find and buy movie here Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights

Directors: Ferland Guy

Actors: Luna Diego,Jackson Jonathan,Slattery John,Lavan Rene,Engen Chris,Kavelin Tommy,Cordero Wilmer,Rodriguez Charlie,Poveda Donato,Romance,Drama,

What happens at the end of the movie, "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights"?

They didn’t get to finish their dance as his brother caused a riot at the hotel where the competition was being held, as he went in undercover as a waiter, so they had to flee and they make love on the beach. Oh before that her parents finally accepted that she is dancing with Javier after a very bad fight with her mother.

Then the next day Katey goes to find Javier and tells him that she has to leave him as they were going back home and they hug each other.

In the last scene they’re in that bar (where they first danced together when she had the date with that jerk who tried to rape her) dancing together, and they’ve become the king and queen of the bar (remember the couple before them where everyone parted for only them to dance), and their parents along with her sister are dancing there as well.

We hear Katey say that that will not be their last dance together though, so am guessing they found a way to be together.

I’d have to say the Aggies played really well. They exposed the Longhorns defense for what it was, particularly out corner backs, and Jerrod Johnson is the future for the Aggies in my opinion. Big props to him, he played great. The Longhorns really have some work to do on defense I think, our offense played well though. Thoughts and Opinions?

Colt McCoy played amazing. I think A&M played an awesome game, the defense wasn’t so bad A&M’s offense was just unstopable.

Texas’ defense played bad and A&M’s offense played good. Otherwise, Texas’ offense looked awesome and unstoppable.

Texas’ offense looked better than they did all season (especially Colt McCoy).

It was Texas’ defense that played bad. I was expecting Texas to score tons of points on A&M, but I did not expect A&M to score that much on Texas.

EW ORANGE LONGHORNS!
Lena | Nov 26, 2009

I only watched about the last ten minutes of the game. From what I saw, the Texas secondary looked horrible, running late to every throw. Johnson did look good, and A and M always plays Texas tough, so I think it’s a little of both. The tackling and angles both teams took were horrible, from what I saw.
Earle of Bruce | Nov 26, 2009

Texas was exposed as having a lousy defense, and this really should knock them down a few spots. But too many voters do nothing but look at the "W". And the "Texas".
Will | Nov 26, 2009

A little bit of both. I know you don’t want to hear this, but I’ve always thought Texas’s defense was a little overrated. They were just too much better than everyone thought they would be. A&M looked really good offensively.
123 (lost a bet) | Nov 26, 2009

Aggies impressed me no doubt about it! But it was Texas playing like Texas. Colt McCoy had a Wonderful game and ran like Colin Kaepernick. Jerrod Johnson exact same thing, I knew nothing that much about him before I watched this game. Whatta game! Both of the teams need too work on there defenses, no matter what? You allow more than even 20 a game vs. anybody? You need help on D (My opinion). So, the outcome? Texas AM proved they can be a competitive Big 12 team and Texas is still undefeated.
Kool Aid | Nov 26, 2009

Clearly it was both. The Longhorns were only stopped a couple of times the whole game. A&M committed several dumb penalties that cost them. You are right about Johnson, he is great. The announcers were saying that Colt McCoy’s younger brother is going to Texas and he may actually be better than Colt, so it seems like both teams have strong futures.
As for the Texas defense, they said that a number were sophomores, so they will improve. The question is how will Texas do against the winner of the Florida-Alabama game.
mattapan26 | Nov 26, 2009

Not a great game by the Horns defencively but enough offence to get it done.
TexHabsfan | Nov 26, 2009

Texas’ offense played spectacular but the defense was off…does not mean that they are bad..just had a bad night…you haters will call them overrated but we all know who has the best defense

this rivalry is one of the best right next to the RRR

if you pawns want blowout wins, go watch an SEC game

tonight just proved why every college football coach recruits from Texas

even the losing team has more talent than most other schools

edit: I have to say it was one of the best games I have seen from both teams…wouldnt have it any other way…I rather watch 60 mins of hard fought football than 30 mins of one team beating the crap out of another
